Avant-garde footballer DANIEL STURRIDGE is a front runner for a BRITISH STYLE AWARD. England and Liverpool front man, Daniel Sturridge has been nominated for this year’s British Style Award. The prestigious award – which has been running for over twenty years – is given to a distinguished individual who, “most embodies the spirit of British fashion” and is an “international ambassador for London as a leading creative fashion capital.”
The 25 year old striker is well known for his trendy, fashion forward style, so much so that hipster bible, Vice Magazine, recently praised his exquisitely unorthodox taste in fashion and music. He also appeared, suitably stylish, at the 2014 Black Entertainment T.V. awards in a LA, to present an award to Pharrell Williams, alongside actor Boris Kodjoe and NFL star DeSean Jackson.
Putting his very own pioneering spin on the elegant vintage trend, Sturridge has a sharp eye for all things fashion, as seen in his recent photo shoot for October’s Esquire magazine. Stylish and Footballer are usually terms deemed unrelated but Sturridge embodies both. Earlier this month he expressed that, “there is an expectation that if you do sport, any sport, you should never have a life outside that. People expect you to just train, play, train. But that’s not me,”
Being nominated for the British Style Award is recognition for a year that has seen Daniel become the number one striker for Liverpool and England; whilst setting high standards for dress sense off the pitch. The 2014 British Fashion Awards, will take place at the London Coliseum theatre on 1st December, comedian Jack Whitehall is scheduled to present the annual ceremony.
Voting closes on Wednesday 5th November, http://www.britishfashionawards.com/polls2014.aspx, and don’t be surprised if Sturridge surprises!
