Ironically, it’s no surprise that Stylist Charley Van Purpz made it onto our front cover for our ninth issue! Our editorial on this exceptional man explains why we have chosen him to be the face of our 9th issue. With the help of the Geffrye Museum located only a stones throw from Shoreditch High Street and our beautiful photographer Risikat Bello, better known as Risi B (Instagram: RisiBPhoto), we’re able to give you insight into the style of a sartorial man according to CVP Styling. The reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once – Albert Einstein. So often we hope that all our dreams and aspirations could come together in an instance, but that defeats the purpose of a journey; a ship is safe in harbour, but that’s not why ships were built. This year we’ve embarked on an adventure to discover the next generation of fashion’s greats; an interesting journey that has lead us to none of other than renowned fashion stylist Charley Van Purpz.
After spending LFW in the company of Charley and learning a few new things about his anticipated return to the world of styling, our editors decided it was time to make Mr. Van Purpz the face of our Autumn/Winter issue. Whoever said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks obviously hadn’t met this stylist. Charley has styled celebrities such as Wretch 32, Charlie Hedges, Wiz Kid, Fuse ODG, Dawn Richard, D’banj and the cast of the BAFTA award-winning reality TV show Made in Chelsea; publications include Fashiopolis, Flavour Magazine, Vault Magazine, Lula Magazine and many more.
With his current inventory of credentials, it is our honour to have Charley Van Purpz on the cover of our ninth issue. We called upon The Geffrye Museum and one of our favourite photographers, Risikat Bello, to help us recreate some old English styled images with a modern twist. Here is a glimpse into the life and style of Charley Van Purpz, the man behind CVP Styling.
