Outstanding, Women’s wear designer label Phannatiq launched the first collection ‘abeyance,’ during AW11 London Fashion Week and since presented collections each season in London and Paris. Phannatiq was established by talented young designer Anna Skodbo, whose unmistakable textiles are inspired by her love affair with forgotten London, urban industrial decay and street art and textures. The collections feature figure hugging shapes alongside sassy anti-fit cutting, rubbing delicate printed silks and chiffons shoulder to shoulder with jerseys, wools and leather. For Phannatiq details are pivotal to the excitement of the garments employing press studs, rivets and leather piping, leather and printed silk trims and unexpected reverse detailing. A modern sense of feminine beauty is discovered through the use of distressed fabrics and hoods, making the collections both challenging and edgy yet fully wearable. The Phannatiq label is working towards being sustainable and is already ethically producing the fabrics through hand silk screen rather than digital printing. Each piece is hand produced making every Phannatiq garment unique. Click the image above to view their editorial feature in FNO Magazine.
